Album Info:May 31st was my Deddy's (Dad) last day on the Bay Line Railroad, a career that lasted 40 years. Pictures are taken on his last two runs on the Bay Line's Abbeville & Grimes line, CSX bow line & yard, and Bay Line yard in Dothan.

I explained that he was retiring, after giving the ok, I caught the BAYL 110 (leased by Conrad Yelvington Distributors) switching rock cars.

Description:  I was waiting on Deddy pass underneath the Main St. overpass, I have never got a shot of him under the overpass, when I noticed a police car sitting under the overpass. In a few minutes he pulled up, got out of his car and asked me what I was doing taking pictures of the trains. I told him the story of my Deddy retiring etc. Then another one came up. After explaining to him as well, they left and I waited for Deddy to come. Unfortunately he was shoving back so I got shot of him going past the fire station (old Bay Line office building). If I had missed my shots because of talking to them I would have been aggrevated.

Description:  I was able to catch the 2017 at the CSX transfer before it was shipped off to the new Columbus & Chattahoochee Railroad with the BAYL 500. The 2017 is the ex-CHAT 2883, I must say it looks a LOT better than the last time I saw it. It was lettered to the Bay Line, guess they changed the decals on it.
