Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, c. 1945. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6791, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during April of 1930 and retired in January of 1953 after 23 years of faithful service. It's departing Enola Yard with a long string of empty hoppers bound for Altoona and the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania. Roy Healey Collection; #15 of 16. |
